Anatomy of a Monthly Statement

Borrower beware
If your credit card statement invites you to skip a month’s payment without penalty, the creditor isn’t doing you any favors. Most likely, you won’t have to pay a late fee, but you will owe finance charges on your unpaid balance. Worse yet, any purchases you make after the due date you skipped will probably accumulate interest from the day you make them.

Every credit card statement looks a little different, but they all contain much of the same information.

Roll your cursor over the statement below to learn more about the items that may appear on your credit card bill each month.
